What does an in home Assessor do?

Meet with the guardian and child help them to discover their family vision, strengths, and needs. Develop strategies to address their needs and attain their vision. Seek information from current service providers, schools, and system partners to aid in the preparation of the Needs Assessment, Clinical psychosocial summary, and plan of care. Submit the necessary documentation to Value Options.

What does an in home Therapist do?

What does a Behavioral Assistant do?
Implement the plan of care/ behavior plan
Model good communication skills to the child
Model good listening skills to the child
Model I messages
Support appropriate familial roles
Point out the child/guardians strengths
Link child to normalized community activities
Spend time with the child individually
Help the guardian set rewards and consequences
Support the guardian in utilizing behavioral techniques
Build a safety net for the child
Foster the child’s self esteem and confidence
Help the child develop social skills

What does the therapist and the behavioral assistant do the same?

Meet the family at their level using family friendly language
Normalize the child’s behavior
Be accountable to the family for their time
Meet the family at a time that works for them
Provide individualized treatment with a personal approach
Become part of the family culture
Foster healing as takes place in the relationship
Keep a good sense of humor
Remain sensitive to the family’s experience of allowing someone in their home

In Home Needs Assessments:

A licensed clinical therapist will meet with the guardian and child in their home to complete the Needs Assessment, Clinical Psychosocial Summary, and Plan of Care. The Assessor will obtain information from schools, Doctors, and system partners to aid in the development of the assessment. The Needs Assessment, Clinical Psychosocial Summary and Plan of Care will be submitted to Value Options.

In Home Therapy:
A fully credentialed therapist will meet with the child and guardian in their home to provide strengths based family driven, therapy. Many modalities may be utilized such as Structural family therapy, play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and/or Family systems therapy. The in home therapist will develop the plan of care and modify it as needed. In home therapy is generally provided once weekly and is authorized in three month intervals.

Behavioral Assistance:
A behavioral assistant will work individually with the child to address specific emotional and behavioral needs. The behavioral assistant provides behavioral intervention, models appropriate behavioral and participates in the development and implantation of the plan of care.
